Born on 20 April 1959, the Iceman Wim Hof first began experimenting with the extreme cold in 1976. He would sit outside in the snow for hours and would often sleep outdoors during the winter without a tent or a sleeping bag. Hof found that not only could he control his body temperature, but he could actually stay warm in very cold weather.

But today, that record is held by Valerjan Romanovski (Poland) with a time of 3 hours 28 seconds.
